Traffic Law Violations

  • - Chesterfield County Reckless/Speeding Charge by VASCAR Dismissed Client charged with reckless driving, speeding 81 in a 60 mph zone. The client's speed was measured by a VASCAR device. In reality, this device is basically a fancy stop watch and is normally used by an officer in an airplane or helicopter. There are many potential defenses to VASCAR charges. In 23 years as a trial lawyer, Bob Battle has yet to see a prosecutor have all the witnesses and evidence at trial necessary to win a VASCAR case over objections! However, most people either plead guilty (and have a permanent criminal record) or hire lawyers who were unaware of these defenses. For example, on this same date in court, several other individuals represented by attorneys accepted plea bargains of a reduction to a speeding ticket after traffic school. Bob Battle encouraged his client to reject a similar offer, and at trial, when the officer attempted to testify as to the speed, the judge sustained Bob Battle's objection and the charge was DISMISSED. Thus, Bob Battle's client was convicted of nothing and did not have to pay court costs or go to traffic school.

What are the defenses to VASCAR reckless/speeding charges? It is a fact that prosecutors and law enforcement officers have Internet access and are aware of the tremendous amount of information that Bob Battle provides on this website and his blog, so this information will only be shared with clients! If you have been charged with Reckless Driving/Speeding by an officer using VASCAR, contact Virgina Reckless Driving Lawyer Bob Battle today to fight this charge.
