Virginia Tech Receiver Zach Luckett Suspended After DUI Arrest
Virginia Tech wide receiver Zach Luckett has been indefinitely suspended by head coach Frank Beamer after his second arrest for driving under the influence.
On August 17, Luckett was charged by Blacksburg Police with DUI and driving on a revoked license. According to Sgt. Nathan O’Dell, it was the second DUI charge for Luckett.
On August 18, Virginia Tech announced Beamer’s decision to suspend Luckett.
Luckett, a 20-year-old sophomore from Mays Landing, New Jersey, was arrested in downtown Blacksburg by Sgt. G.L. Thomas. Luckett’s blood-alcohol content was measured to be .16, twice the legal limit of .08.
Luckett was expected to start for the Hokies this season, but will lose his position to freshman Dyrell Roberts because of the suspension.
